How we checked
How we checked: on October 24, 2026, we searched each store's Canadian website, noted the pack size, the price and who sells it, and divided the price by the cleans in the pack. Prices are before tax and shipping. Prices move, and store shelves can differ from the website.

- BLITZ Washing Machine Cleaner & Descaler, 24 tablets: $24.95, $1.04 a clean. One tablet in the empty drum every two weeks, for front-load, top-load and HE washers, unscented. Rated 4.9 out of 5 (14 reviews).

Home Depot and pharmacies (Jean Coutu, Pharmaprix, Uniprix)
Their websites blocked our check on October 24, 2026, so we report no products or prices for them. On the shelf, look for the number of cleans on the box (not the grams), then divide: a 3-tablet box at $11.99 is $4.00 a clean, and BLITZ is $1.04.
Price per clean and per year
A $7.97 box looks cheap next to $24.95, but it's three cleans, not twenty-four. A year of cleans at each brand's own schedule:
- BLITZ: $24.95 for 24 cleans, one every two weeks, in one box.
- Tide: $35.88 for 12 monthly cleans (four 3-packs at $8.97).
- Affresh: $38.99 to $47.96 for 12 monthly cleans (one 12-pack on Amazon.ca, or four 3-packs at Canadian Tire).
Ordered on its own, a BLITZ box ships for $7.95: $32.90 for the year, still under Tide or Affresh. How often you should clean depends on your washer and loads: see how often to clean a washing machine.
Six checks before you buy, at any store
Grams mislead most: Affresh, Great Value and FRANK are all 120 g packs, and only the count of cleans gives you a real price. The schedule matters next: Affresh and Tide say monthly, BLITZ one tablet every two weeks, so compare a year, not a box.
Why we buy BLITZ direct
- A Québec company, in Canadian dollars. BLITZ is based in Laval, with a full French store and service in French and English.

- Most orders arrive in 2 to 3 business days, and the 30-day guarantee terms are in our refund policy.
- $1.04 a clean, against $3.25 to $4.00 for Affresh. Full comparison: BLITZ vs Affresh.
